Mustangs News · Girls come from behind to win in OT to Advance to So Cal Regional Semis!

Last night the Lady Mustang Basketball team was able to pull out a come from behind overtime victory in the second round of the CIF State playoff game.  After being down by 16 in the second half and as many as 9 points with 5 minutes to go the ladies were able to continue to fight their way back.  Led by Jaachi Nwanevu (25 pts/16 reb), Michelle Onyiah (8 pts/23 rebounds), freshman Carley Bolden (15 points including key bucket and free throws to help tie the game in regulation), and key defensive stops the Lady Mustangs were able to write a ticket to the semifinal game on Saturday.

The Semifinal game will pit the ladies against Rolling Hills Prep.  Yes, the same team that knocked our team out of the CIF playoffs, in the semifinals no less.  The game will be at LA Harbor College at 6pm.  It would be great to see students and staff out there watching and cheering on our ladies as they continue to make history for the school and the basketball program.  If you cannot make it be sure to congratulate the girls and wish them good luck as they will be doing their best to bring another state championship to Eleanor Roosevelt High School.
